Just in from Swedish melodic death metal supergroup The Halo Effect is their cover of the 1992 Danzig track “How The Gods Kill“. The Halo Effect‘s lineup consists of veterans of In Flames, some of whom, such as vocalist Mikael Stanne, have also gone on to find fame in Dark Tranquillity and more.
Stanne said of this cover:
“During my teenage years the darkness and allure of the early Danzig albums introduced me to a whole new way of thinking about what rock and metal could be. Glenn’s vocals and lyrics were also incredibly influential on this aspiring vocalist/lyricist.”
This rendition is part of an upcoming covers EP from The Halo Effect, more details for which will be revealed at a later date.
