Sumo Cyco‘s first new song in 4 years, “Villains“, debuted online this week. That song emerged online tandem with a music video directed by the Canadian alternative metal band’s vocalist Skye Sweetnam. She said of this new single:
“The track poses a question, how do we show up in other people’s stories? Could we be the villains without realizing it? It’s tongue-in-cheek but rooted in real discomfort, about privilege, corruption, and the spectacle we’re all part of. I love writing lyrics that end in a question mark, because they make you stop and think.”
