Inferi drummer Spencer Moore has taken up his new position behind the drumkit for Canadian technical death metal wizards Archspire. Moore looks to fill the very talented shoes of Spencer Prewett, who exited the band last September. Moore was announced as the newest member of the aforementioned group this morning, May 27th.
Of course, the irony of replacing one Spencer with another wasn’t lost on Archspire, as they’ve taken to calling him ‘Spencer 2‘ in the below post announcing his addition. In the attached clip, you can also watch him rip through a brand new track from Archspire, who hit the studio this past March to begin hammering out their new album. They intend to return to the studio next month to finish that outing.
Archspire commented:
“Some say less is more…
But WE believe MOORE is more…Next month, we’re heading to Flatline Audio to finish our fifth (and best) album with the best drummer we could ask for: SPENCER MOORE!!!
Here’s a taste of Spencer 2 tearing through a brand new track.
420 (bpm) isn’t just for stoners anymore.”
Inferi also commented of how this lineup change has impacted them, revealing Spencer has exited the band, with Nathan Bigelow taking over for the interim:
“Cats out of the bag.
After years of service, our brother Spencer Moore has decided to leave and accept the position as the drummer of @archspireofficial .
We wish them well. With a new album and more tour announcements on he horizon, we will not be slowing down.
You can catch our good friend @nathanwolegib (Arkaik / Singularity) behind the kit filling in for us.We’ll see you soon!”
