The Smashing Pumpkins leader Billy Corgan has revealed the players set to join him for the upcoming operatic live interpretation he has planned for the band’s 1995 diamond-certified double album, “Mellon Collie And The Infinite Sadness“. A series of concerts are planned for that unique take on the record at the Lyric Opera Of Chicago in the alternative rock band’s hometown of Chicago, IL. Those concerts will be taking place November 21st, 22nd, 25th, 26th, 28th, 29th & 30th.
Sydney Mancasola (soprano), Zoie Reams (mezzo-soprano), Dominick Chenes, (tenor), and Edward Parks (baritone) have been cast in the opera and will be joining Billy and the Lyric Opera Orchestra for that run of shows. Corgan commented on the matter:
“I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to be sharing the stage with such gifted singers. Each day, this fantastic dream becomes more and more of a reality, so please don’t miss out if you are thinking at all about going. It will truly be 7 nights of pure magic.”
