Nic Collins (Genesis, Mike + The Mechanics, etc.), son of acclaimed musician Phil Collins, was once again put to the task by Drumeo, this time being challenged to come up with his own parts for Opeth‘s 2005 epic “Ghost Of Perdition“.
During a past visit, Nic was put through the ringer, having been tasked with coming up for his own parts for Don Ellis‘ “Whiplash“, while also being faced with learning Avenged Sevenfold‘s “Almost Easy” as fast as possible.
Nic‘s initial listens to “Ghost Of Perdition” came about via a drumless version, granting him a blank slate to come up with his own parts for the over ten minute cut. Below you can watch him react to the song, work out his parts and eventually hear the actual complete version of the song as written and performed by Opeth themselves.
