If you’ve been on social media this week, you’re likely aware that Sleep Token‘s continued ascent to the throne of alternative metal royalty has certainly rubbed many the wrong way. However, it’s clear that the while they have yet to win over the hearts and minds of some metalheads and noted tastemakers, the band’s fans have come out en masse for the group’s fourth album, “Even In Arcadia“.
That effort has just landed the masked outfit their first #1 album in the UK. That commercial success isn’t just limited to their aforementioned homeland either, as that record is presently being forecasted by Hits Daily Double to top the Billboard 200 in the United States as well, with an estimated 125k album-equivalent units being shifted in that territory alone during its opening week.
The band’s continued growth is not a surprising development. Having already graduated to arenas in the UK and Europe, the first nod that 2025 would be a huge year for them came with their their selection as a 2025 ‘Download Festival‘ headliner, alongside tenured veterans in Green Day and Korn.
Preceded by an elaborate ARG-styled promotional campaign, the band also took their shot in the United States this past March, announcing their first arena headlining run in that territory. To no one’s surprise, that run also quickly sold out.
