“Master Of Puppets“, the title track to Metallica‘s 6x platinum-certified third studio album, has newly made its way into Spotify’s 1 billion plays club. That song was released as the sole single from that landmark thrash metal effort back in July of 1986.

While and enduring fan favorite, decades later, the song experienced a dramatic resurgence thanks to appearing in the Netflix hit series, ‘Stranger Things‘. “Master Of Puppets‘s is the band’s third song to cross the 1 billion plays threshold on Spotify, following behind their two self-titled hits, “Enter Sandman” and “Nothing Else Matters“.
