After returning last year with the release of “Rack“, their first studio album in 26 years, noise rockers The Jesus Lizard continue their relative deluge of new music. “I’m Tired Of Being Your Mother” is the latest track to follow in the wake of that album. It is also the last advance preview of the group’s forthcoming EP “Flux“. That three-song offering will be out on April 12th as part of this year’s Record Store Day. Vocalist David Yow stated:
“When a friend of mine was about eight years old, living outside of New Orleans, his mother once said to him, in a slow, dull drawl, ‘I’m tired uh bein’ yo mutha.’ That really struck me. The lyrics are actual quotes of awful things mothers have said to their children. Heartbreaking!!”
