Swedish symphonic metal outfit Eleine have parted ways with their drummer Jesper Sunnhagen and bassist Filip Stålberg, citing allegations of misconduct with the band’s fanbase. A statement issued this past Friday, February 14th on the matter reads:
“Dear Eleine Legions,
Unfortunately we must share that our drummer Jesper Sunnhagen, and our bass player Filip Stålberg, will have to leave the band.
They have broken one of the most important parts of our band member contract by acting inappropriately towards our fans.
Their departure will be immediate and will NOT affect our upcoming tours.
There will be replacement musicians to stand in during the upcoming shows.
Thank you for understanding that we put our fans first.
With love,
Madeleine & Rikard”
Sunnhagen joined the band back in 2018, while Stålberg was a more recent addition, having become a member back in 2023. Speculation as to the cause of their firing has been running rampant online.
