Shadow Of Intent vocalist Ben Duerr has issued a statement regarding the allegations of domestic abuse that were leveled against him last week. In a since deleted series of posts, Brittney Carroll came forward with allegations of domestic abuse against the deathcore vocalist, showing off video of a heated exchange with him, while also sharing photographs of several bruises she claimed to have sustained via an altercation with him.
Soon afterward, she issued this statement, clarifying the allegations she made against Duerr, whom she shares a child with. In that statement, she described their now ended relationship as “toxic” and revealed that she and Duerr had both partaken in mentally abusing each other.
She also added further detail to the physical altercation between her and Duerr, while revealing that she has once again found out she is pregnant with Duerr being the father. Speaking today, February 11th, Duerr stated:
“Hey everyone — I need to clear up some questions that I’ve been receiving lately about Brittney Carroll (fiancée of nearly 10 years and mother of my children) and myself.
I have never abused or otherwise caused physical violence to any woman, especially not the mother of my children (and of course not while she was pregnant).
After talking, she and I have come to the agreement to part ways and are both going to therapy to be the best parents that we can be for our two kids. We both agree that the prior incident referred to in a video that she recently shared was truly an accident and are now civilly working through things for the well-being of our children.”
