Fans of long-running alternative metal/nü-metal band Nonpoint were given a scare last week when the band’s drummer Robb Rivera was forced to stop the band’s January 12th show at the Mercury Ballroom in Louisville, KL mid-set to tend to a heart-related medical issue that saw him transported to a local hospital.
While Rivera has since personally addressed his health and the band have continued on with their joint anniversary celebrating 20 years of “To The Pain” and the 25th anniversary of “Statement” with Crobot & Heartsick, Nonpoint vocalist Elias Soriano has now provided a more in-depth explanation of what caused the scare. And then that mixed with just the stress, the stress of the show, and blood sugar. The doctor said he was low on magnesium and potassium, so he’s just gotta hydrate right, make sure he doesn’t drink caffeine before a show. And he performed last night, no problems, no issues.
You’re getting older, and the older you get, your body doesn’t work the same. So, normally, two cups of coffee and a little stress normally would have done it, but…”
