Thrash metal superstars Metallica held their annual ‘Helping Hands Concert & Auction‘ at the YouTube Theater in Los Angeles, CA last Friday, December 13th. That event raises funds for the group’s charitable foundation All Within My Hands.
This year’s edition also featured performances from Van Halen alumni Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony, guitar wizard Joe Satriani and drummer Kenny Aronoff (ex-Lynyrd Skynyrd, etc..) String duo SistaStrings also played, even getting the invite to join Metallica onstage.
The setlist itself was split into acoustic and electric performances and featured few live debuts, rarities and new arrangements, along with guest appearances. Avi Vinocur of Goodnight, Texas and Henry Salvia of the Flying Salvias also served as guest musicians for a significant portion of the night. Here’s how the setlist played out:
