Butcher Babies have just launched a one-take music video for their latest single “Sincerity“. After debuting that track live on the road this fall, the alternative metal outfit officially unveiled the studio version of it earlier this month. Now the band have pushed out the below video, which was co-directed by the band’s own guitarist Henry Flury and vocalist Heidi Shepherd. Filming took place on the streets of London, England.
The track is the first music to emerge from the outfit since the July exit of co-vocalist Carla Harvey. It also serves as their first song since signing with Judge & Jury Records — a label headed up by the production house of Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, P.O.D.) and Three Days Grace drummer Neil Sanderson. The aforementioned pair also oversaw the production on this track.
Shepherd said of “Sincerity“:
“‘Sincerity‘ is wishful thinking in that someone you trusted had been sincere and delicate with your feelings and emotions rather than used to feed their own ego and benefit. The tag line, ‘the lies we can’t survive’, stems from a relationship that has been fought for over and over again but, ultimately, can not be fixed. After years of a pathological liar looking you in the eyes and offering up intentional and insincere promises, this song touches on those eyes being the ‘eyes that lie’.
These new songs are written and produced with a purpose to show growth and maturity within the band. They are bound to invoke an emotional rollercoaster between looking toward the future with hope while reminiscing of past losses.”
