Nailbomb performed their first live set since June 03rd of 1995 this past weekend. That short-lived industrial metal-leaning side project of Max Cavalera (Soulfly, ex-Sepultura, etc.) and Alex Newport of Fudge Tunnel released their sole album “Point Blank” in 1994. They followed it up with two shows in 1995 — the latter of which was released as the live album “Proud To Commit Commercial Suicide“.
Newport didn’t take part in this resurrection, leaving Cavalera to rebuild the roster for the one-off show. The set took place as part of the ‘Max Cavalera Dynasty‘ show held this past Saturday, November 09th at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, AZ. That event celebrated the prolific catalog of Max and also featured sets from various Cavalera-associated bands.
While he was involved in the early incarnation of the group, Max‘s brother Iggor did not handle the drumming for this live return. Instead, the Brazilian metal legend was joined by guitarist Travis Stone (Pig Destroyer), bassist Johny Chow (ex-Stone Sour, etc.), drummer Adam Jarvis (Misery Index/Pig Destroyer) and sampler Alex Cha (Pig Destroyer).
The setlist for the show ran as follows:
“Wasting Away”
“Vai toma no cü”
“24 Hour Bullshit”
“Guerrillas”
“Blind And Lost”
“Sum Of Your Achievements”
“Cockroaches”
“World Of Shit”
“Religious Cancer”
“Sick Life”
