Sol Invicto‘s long-awaited debut EP “Loosely Aware” has just received its release. A long-gestating union of Deftones guitarist Stephen Carpenter, Cypress Hill percussionist Eric Bobo, and producer/guitarist Richie Londres, this three-song effort precedes the trio’s plans for a new full-length album to follow in 2025.
“Loosely Aware” follows a compilation of various demos and song ideas the group put out back in 2017 exclusively to their private fan club. Sol Invicto had some help in the studio for this release, with Sean Plague of Plague To Pyres guesting on the previously released single, “The Obvious Play“. SikTh drummer Dan Foord also took part behind the drum kit. This EP emerges through Londres & Carpenter‘s Omyac Records, which Plague To Pyres are also signed with.
Londres commented of the long road it took to get this release out:
“‘Loosely Aware‘ represents years of relentless experimentation, sweat, and commitment to this project. This EP is a testament to the resilience and collaborative spirit that defines Sol Invicto. We wanted to create something gritty, heavy and authentic that gives listeners a taste of the chaos and beauty that we thrive on. The Loosely Aware EP marks the beginning of a new chapter for the band. We’re proud to finally share it with the world and are very excited for what’s coming next.”
