Guitarist Jake E. Lee has issued an update on the incident that led to him being shot three times in Las Vegas, NV this past week. While out walking his dog this past Tuesday, October 15th, Lee was shot three times. He was rushed to the hospital and has since been discharged, with a full recovery expected.
According to a previous post by Lee, 15 shell casings were found at the scene of the incident, with the police actively investigating the shooting. Lee revealed last week that one bullet went through his forearm, another hit his foot, and another penetrated his back, subsequently breaking a rib and damaging one of his lungs.
In an update shared on social media today, October 20th, the 67-year-old musician, known for his current outfit the Red Dragon Cartel, and his work on Ozzy Osbourne‘s “Bark At The Moon“, “The Ultimate Sin” and amore, revealed that the shooting was seemingly precipitated by a confrontation between himself and several shady individuals in his neighborhood.
Lee said of that:
“Thank you again for all your concern. A quick update: back home recuperating. A big thanks to those at Sunrise Hospital for taking such good care of me. And some brief details about that night. Walking home from our walk Coco and I crossed paths with a couple of thieves. Dressed darkly, hoodies pulled down their faces and masks covering their mouths. Standing in a neighbor’s driveway checking out his motorcycle. There was a verbal confrontation which ended with an agreement that I would walk one way and they would walk the opposite. That didn’t work out. I’ll probably talk in more detail about it later but right now I can only comfortably do a little at a time. Let me look for another cute pic of Coco!”
