Harley Flanagan, vocalist/bassist for veteran NYHC outfit Cro-Mags, has come out swinging out against concertgoers who film and share entire live sets from bands. In a post shared via his Instagram earlier today, October 17th, the 57-year-old musician stated:
“To people who think it’s OK to post a bands entire set… ITS NOT. This is how we make money. And you are essentially bootlegging our live shows to get attention for yourself. NOT COOL”
He continued:
“And let’s get this straight you motherfuckers are not creating content.
You’re filming someone else working and posting it.You are not creating a fucking thing you’re standing there with a cell phone.
If you actually were creating something I might give you some respect but you’re NOT
It’s one thing to post a song or two and that’s fine
BUT PLEASE REFRAIN FROM POSTING OUR ENTIRE SETS!!!”
