Swedish deathcore outfit The Hate Project will be issuing their new EP, “May Death Come Quickly“, on November 08th through Seek And Strike. Along with a music video for the newly debuted single “Deep In The Mire“, the group also expanded upon what they set out to do this this new effort. Here’s what they had to say:

“For this EP we wanted to implement a darker/heavier sound, relying more on hard-hitting breakdowns and riffs. We focused more on letting the songs be driven by somewhat simple yet catchy elements and we approached what for us was a new way of writing music in a lot of senses which we think will be shown in this EP collection.

We chose this song as a single because we think it’s a really solid song that has a very good flow all throughout, it never loses its energy or feels forced. It was one of those songs where it came together pretty naturally and the whole process just clicked really well when we wrote this one. The music video for the song will complement the track’s darkness and eerie feeling and give a good sneak peek on what The Hate Project is heading.

We are really proud of how the finished product sounds. When we imagined this EP in our heads when the process first started, from the riffs being written to the effects we added in, it really came together how we wanted and we think this is a really solid EP. The mix obviously makes a huge deal in all of that and we are very satisfied with the work our producer Simone Pietroforte has done by helping us find a really good sound.

The quality of sound and songs will stand out on this EP, it is really hard-hitting and it sucks you right in. When listening to the masters, we feel that the overall balance/mix is the best we have had. A lot of the ideas that we had in our minds when writing parts of the songs really came to life with the final product/master exactly the way we hoped it would.

Our vocalist, Anton, basically wrote from the bottom of his heart. He has been going through some rough times the past year and you can see some of his thoughts in most of the songs on the EP, blended with fiction. Being stuck in dark places just trying to channel your pure fucking anger.”
