Prog rockers Coheed And Cambria have just earned their first platinum award in the United States. The celebrated prog rockers had previously enjoyed gold certifications for their 2003 sophomore album “In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3“, and its 2005 follow-up,
“Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness“. Their video releases, “Live At The Starland Ballroom” and “Neverender“, also both managed to rack up gold certifications by the RIAA.
However, a newly issued wave of certifications finds the New York band excelling to the next level, with their definitive track, 2005’s “Welcome Home,” being certified both gold and platinum today, October 15th.
Also newly hitting gold status today are the lead single from “In Keeping Secrets Of Silent Earth: 3“, “A Favor House Atlantic“, and the second single from “Good Apollo, I’m Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness“, “The Suffering“.
A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
Outside of that, the group have also announced the details for the next edition of their ‘SS Neverender‘ cruise. That run will set sail from Miami, FL on November 08th of 2025 aboard the Norwegian Jewel and hit Cozumel, Mexico. The band stated of that today:
