It’s a big week for Seven Hours After Violet. The fledgling supergroup took part in their first live performance as part of an in-studio set for SiriusXM‘s Liquid Metal station this past Monday, October 07th.

Now today (October 11th) has seen the release of their self-titled debut album, and the launch of the below music video for “Cry….“. Next up for the group is their first full-fledged live performance, with the outfit set to appear at this Saturday’s (October 12th) return of the ‘Mayhem Fest‘. That event will be held at the Glen Helen Amphitheater in San Bernardino, CA.

In addition to System Of A Down bassist Shavo Odadjian serving as the ringleader, Seven Hours After Violet‘s lineup includes vocalist Taylor Barber (Left To Suffer), guitarist/producer Michael “Morgothbeatz” Montoya (Winds Of Plague, etc.), ‘American Idol‘ runner-up Alejandro Aranda (aka Scarypoolparty) on guitars/vocals, and Winds Of Plague, etc. drummer Josh Johnson.

The group collectively stated of this newly featured song:

“‘Cry‘ captures the agony of trying to hold onto something that’s already broken, that inevitable downfall when love turns into torment. It’s about being locked in a space of emotional suffocation, where every attempt to hold on only pulls you further into the abyss. This is the pain we wanted to channel—a song for anyone who’s ever felt like they’re drowning in their own emotions.”

Odadjian also shared his personal thoughts, offering:

“This record is everything I’ve wanted to put out for years. It’s heavy, it’s melodic, it’s vulnerable, and, at times, completely chaotic. With ‘Cry,’ we wanted to create something that rips you apart emotionally—both sonically and lyrically. This album is our collective truth, and we’re very excited for the world to finally hear it.”
