UK post-hardcore band Acres are eyeing an October 25th release date for their new EP “What It’s Like To Feel Worthless” through Solid State Records. Nestled among the five tracks of that new outing is the song “Deadweight“, which the band have newly shared online below.
Vocalist Ben Lumber had the following to say about it:
“When writing ‘Deadweight,’ we were really conscious keeping all the elements of what we’re known for but also welcoming in the new sound. It’s cathartic and anthemic. Lyrically, it’s almost like a conversation between two people expressing how they feel about each other, and coming to terms with how they feel. It’s the first time I’ve written this way.”
He also chimed in on the EP, stating:
“This EP is us trying new things and trying to express ourselves in a new way. We will forever try and change things up with every release but also keeping what our fans like about our band.”
