The ongoing 20th anniversary live celebration of “Leviathan“ isn’t the only trip down memory lane Mastodon have planned for this year. As they previously teased, the GRAMMY Award-winning alternative metal group have now lifted the veil on a 15th anniversary edition of their fourth studio album, 2009’s conceptual opus “Crack The Skye“. An October 04th release date has been slated for this newly expanded collection, which will arrive across vinyl, Blu-ray and CD formats.
The original album has newly been remastered for the set, while an instrumental version of the record dubbed “Crack The Skye: The Score” is also included. Paul Romano was enlisted to construct revised artwork for the vinyl and CD deluxe editions of the album.
Also included with select versions of the set is a Blu-ray, which features the animations the band used for their “Crack The Skye” 10th anniversary touring back in 2019. ‘Crack The Skye: The Movie‘ and ‘The Making Of Crack The Skye‘ are also packed into that set.
Bonus included in the more elaborate versions of this remastered set include Mastodon stamps, custom designed magnets, special booklets and posters. Furthermore, the digital deluxe edition of the album will feature “Crack The Skye” mastered in Dolby Atmos. Pre-order options are available now through shop.mastodonrocks.com.
