Chimaira played their first live show of the year this past weekend, taking the stage at the annual ‘Inkcarceration Music & Tattoo Festival‘ in Mansfield, OH last Friday, July 19th. The Ohioan groove metal outfit performed 10 songs during that set, with official drum cam footage of their drummer Austin D’Amond having newly been released. D’Amond joined the band in 2011 and remained with them through to their 2014 breakup. He has been behind the kit for their scattered reunion shows since.
Outside of D’Amond, the group’s ‘classic era’ lineup of vocalist Mark Hunter, guitarists Rob Arnold and Matt DeVries, bassist Jim LaMarca and programmer/vocalist Chris Spicuzza were all a part of this last weekend’s show. The setlist ran as follows:
“Pure Hatred”
“Power Trip”
“The Flame”
“Nothing Remains”
“The Dehumanizing Process”
“The Venom Inside”
“Year Of The Snake”
“Dead Inside”
“Severed”
“Resurrection”
Chimaira currently have another show booked for later this year, as they will be playing Lamb Of God‘s annual ‘Headbangers Boat‘ cruise when it sets sail in late October through to early November.
