Accusations of Mötley Crüe playing to backing tracks live have extended to the group’s latest recruit, noted guitarist John 5. The aforementioned glam metal band’s live shows since reuniting in 2018 have been the subject of much debate, with unsavory accusations even emerging from the band’s estranged guitarist Mick Mars.
Taking to social media overnight, John 5 issued the following video clarifying that he does not play to backing tracks amid his time on stage with the Crüe. In the video, he demonstrates several techniques that have often seen him mistaken for miming along to pre-recorded tracks onstage.
