Tool’s Danny Carey Has Upgraded His Stage Attire With An Elaborate New Suit

Danny Carey, the acclaimed percussionist behind the drum kit for multi-platinum alternative metal outfit Tool, has upped his stage attire amid the band’s ongoing European/UK touring.

While Carey is often adorned in some loose-fitting basketball shorts and a jersey when he hits the stage, recent shows have found him clothed in an illuminated (or at least seemingly light reactive) suit. That suit also seems to pay homage to the artwork of artist Alex Grey — a longtime favorite of the band.

Makeup and FX artist Jacob Roanhaus was tasked with creating this custom suit for the renowned drummer, with some footage of it in motion having circulated online recently below. European fans will likely be able to see the suit live amid the following remaining dates of the group’s overseas touring:

06/10 Wien, AUT – Wiener Stadthalle
06/11 Kraków, POL – Tauron Arena
06/13 Budapest, HUN – BudapestAréna
06/18 Köln, GER – Lanxess Arena
06/20 Dessel, BEL – Graspop Metal Meeting
06/22 Copenhagen, DEN – CopenHell
06/25 Stockholm, SWE – Tele2 Arena
06/27 Oslo, NOR – Tons of Rock
