Head Automatica (Glassjaw) Debut Their First New Single Since 2006 (Updated)

Head Automatica, the previously poppy alt rock side project of Glassjaw‘s Daryl Palumbo, have surprise released their first new single since 2006. That song, “Bear The Cross“, finds the project heading in a relatively more aggressive direction. Palumbo commented:

“To me, ‘Bear The Cross‘ is both a logical and unexpected evolution of Head Automatica’s sound. The sounds and ideas are very familiar but age undeniably changes your personality, creative leanings and approach.

There is an urgency and boldness in what you feel empowered to produce after a certain point. ‘Bear The Cross‘, and our new material on the whole are a reflection of that while still constantly maintaining a body moving element.”

The track precedes some upcoming live shows from the outfit, which Palumbo resurrected in recent years folowing a lengthy hiatus.
