Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza

Trailer Released For Upcoming ‘Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza’ Docuseries

A trailer has been issued for the upcoming ‘Lollapalooza‘ documentary, ‘Lolla: The Story Of Lollapalooza‘. Director/writer, etc. Michael John Warren (‘VH1’s Heavy: The Story of Metal‘, ‘Nicki Minaj: My Time Again‘) oversaw that three-part docuseries, which chronicles the history of the annual ‘Lollapalooza‘ festival.

Originally envisioned as a farewell tour for Jane’s Addiction by the band’s vocalist Perry Farrell in the early 90s, the tour would evolve into a summer traveling festival tour throughout the 90s and into the early 00s. Ambitious booking saw many breakout acts of the alternative rock scene at the time paired alongside rising stars of the rap, metal and grunge worlds, resulting in some rather memorable lineups.

The trek’s touring incarnation ultimately came to an end with an ill-fated venture in 2004, ultimately being reborn in 2005 with a flagship yearly festival in Chicago, IL. Several spinoff festivals have since followed, taking place in other countries over the years.

Members of past Lollapalooza performers, including Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Rage Against The Machine, etc., can be seen discussing the festival in the below new trailer. Look for the series to debut on Paramount+ on May 21st.
