Jay Weinberg (Suicidal Tendencies, Ex-Slipknot) To Fill-In On ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers’

Drummer Jay Weinberg will be sitting behind the kit for the 8G Band on ‘Late Night With Seth Meyers‘ early next month. You can catch him holding down the percussion duties from May 06th through to May 09th. Weinberg, who played drums for multi-platinum metal band Slipknot for a lengthy tenure that ended last November, has recently taken up with crossover legends Suicidal Tendencies. He’s also been a live fill-in with Infectious Grooves amid some touring over the past few weeks.

There’s a bit of irony in Weinberg performing drums on a late night talk show, especially this particular one; Jay‘s father Max served as the long-time band leader for a previous incarnation of this very show when it was hosted by Conan O’Brien.

Jay commented on social media:

“I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be sitting in with the @8gband on @latenightseth May 6 – 9! 🥁📺

I have countless foundational memories from pretty much growing up just two floors down at 30 Rock, and I’m honored to come up to jam in two weeks! Thank you so much @erx11, @8gband, and the whole @latenightseth team for the invitation. See you all soon!”
