Ozzy Osbourne, Foreigner, Etc. Among 2024 ‘Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame’ Inductees


Heavy metal’s own ‘Prince Of Darkness’ Ozzy Osbourne will be making his way into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame for a second time later this year. The 75-year-old legend has officially been named one of this year’s inductees, with the announcement having just been made tonight, April 21st on an episode of ‘American Idol‘.

Osbourne was previously inducted by Metallica‘s James Hetfield and Lars Ulrich into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame back in 2006 along his bandmates in the pioneering heavy metal outfit Black Sabbath. This time around he will be making it in on the merits of his own storied solo career.

This year’s inductees include:

A Tribe Called Quest
Mary J. Blige
Dave Matthews Band
Peter Frampton
Kool & The Gang

Other nominees this year who didn’t make it into the hall include:

Mariah Carey
Eric B. & Rakim
Jane’s Addiction
Lenny Kravitz
Sinéad O’Connor

MC5, Dionne Warwick, Jimmy Buffett, and Norman Whitfield will receive the Musical Excellence Award, while Alexis Korner, John Mayall, and Big Mama Thornton will receive the Musical Influence Award. Suzanne de Passe will receive the Ahmet Ertegun Award.

This year’s induction ceremony will take place on October 19th at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, OH. It is scheduled the stream live on Disney+.
