Veteran Californian thrash metal band Exodus will be releasing a live album from 1989 this coming May. The featured performance took place at The Astoria in London, England back in March of 1989. It will be released on May 31st through Nuclear Blast as “British Disaster: The Battle of ’89 (Live At The Astoria)“.
Zeuss (Rob Zombie, Shadows Fall) was brought on to mix and master the performance for this release. The group’s guitarist Gary Holt commented of the decision to put out this effort now, some 35 years later:
“Sometimes something truly awesome drops right in your lap. In the case of Exodus, it was full multitrack tape reels from our headlining show in London while on tour for Fabulous Disaster! Let’s listen and see what we have” and BAM! We were on FIRE! Pure over-the-top thrash, one hundred percent live, and as dangerous as ever! We are fucking stoked to be able to release this for our fans. Total mayhem!”
