Earth Crisis & Public Enemy Members Team Up On Benefit Single “Live Free”

Earth Crisis vocalist Karl Buechner and guitarist Scott Crouse have teamed up with Chuck D of Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame-inducted rap activists Public Enemy (and Prophets Of Rage, among others), on a new charity single titled “Live Free“. Craig G of Juice Crew also appears on that Krohme produced song, the proceeds from which will go towards Punks For Autism.

An early pioneer in mixing rap and metal, Chuck D helped kick down doors with Public Enemy, sampling their then labelmates Slayer on “She Watch Channel Zero?!” back in 1988. Chuck D would later forces with Anthrax on a metallic reworking of the Public Enemy cut “Bring The Noise“, an influential pairing for the amalgam of rap and metal to follow.

Bitter Melody Records, who issued the split, commented:

‘The almighty Chuck D, Craig G from legendary Juice Crew, and Scott and Karl from Earth Crisis team up to bring you a track that would fit perfectly on the Judgement Night soundtrack, and for a good cause.’

You can pick that up via Bitter Melody Records.
