Watch Drummer Jess Bowen Come Up With Her Own Drum Parts For Rage Against The Machine’s “Bulls On Parade”

Drummer Jess Bowen (The Summer Set, 3OH!3, Lights, etc.) was recently introduced to the music of political rap metal firebrands Rage Against The Machine by the folks over at Drumeo. That introduction serves as the latest entry in Drumeo‘s ongoing series, in which they introduce a drummer to a song they’ve not heard of and task them with coming up with their own drum parts for it.

The catch is that the musician in the proverbial hot seat is played a version of the song featuring zero percussion, leaving them with a blank slate for their own parts. Afterwards, the musician is allowed to hear the original studio track of the song to see how their own version stacks up against the original.

Rage Against The Machine‘s 1996 single “Bulls On Parade” was the track in question for this episode, which despite its enduring popularity, was new to Bowen.
