Update: April 02nd, 2024 09:34pm:

Gordon has clarified the comments in a personal post, stating:

“With regards to this linkin park singer thing. I know nothing about any of that. People sure do love to take my words out of context. I love those guys and wish them the best. Wow I was like what in the actual f**ck? I said nothing about knowing any of that and never brought it up. I love Chester and there will be another him ever. Strange that that dude said something to me about it not the other way around. get real dude. Not cool!”

Original Story:

Orgy vocalist Jay Gordon may have spilled the beans regarding some plans in the Linkin Park camp. There’s been some lingering rumors that a tribute style incarnation of the band would be returning to the road this year with the involvement of some of the nü-metal kingpins’ surviving members. However, nothing concrete on that has been announced thus far.

Vocalist/guitarist, etc. Mike Shinoda did go on to revisit some tracks from the band’s catalog via a series of jam sessions with musicians in different countries over the past year or so, releasing them as the ‘Already Over Sessions‘.

In a newly published interview with Gordon, he mentioned that he had heard rumors that members of the band had secured a female vocalist for some potential future plans.

Speaking with KCAL 96.7’s Mike Z., Gordon offered:

“Very, very cool guys and obviously a great band. They’ve been around a long time and they’re still going for it,. It’s going to be tough without Chester [Bennington], but we’ll see. I hear they got a girl singer now. That’s what I heard.”

When asked about the band possibly returning, Gordon cautioned, “Don’t quote me on that. I’m not sure who the singer is going to be, but I heard it was gonna be female. They might just try to move on like that. That ought to be interesting.”

Linkin Park last hit the stage in 2017 for a tribute show to their late vocalist Chester Bennington, who passed away earlier that year.
