Papa Roach & Jeris Johnson’s “Last Resort (Reloaded)” Goes Gold

Back in 2020, Jeris Johnson found some viral fame on social media with his reworking of Papa Roach‘s 2000 nü-metal staple, “Last Resort“. The latter multi-platinum outfit were so taken aback by his version, that they invited him to collaborate together on an official rework of the track, which they released in early 2021 as “Last Resort (Reloaded)“.

Yesterday, April 01st, saw that revamped version officially certified gold in the United States by the RIAA. Interestingly, the original studio version of that single has yet to receive any certification in the United States, despite having crossed over a billion streams on Spotify alone. Once the RIAA‘s accounting catches up with that hit track, it would seem multiple plaques will be headed Papa Roach‘s way.

A platinum album/single in the United States represents 1,000,000 units, while gold signifies 500,000 units. Outside of traditional physical/digital sales, the certifications factor in digital streams/downloads with 10 permanent track downloads counting as 1 unit and 1500 on-demand audio/video streams from a particular album also counting as as a unit.
