Last night, March 20th, saw the iconic musical duo of Sir Elton John & Bernie Taupin presented with the Library of Congress Gershwin Prize for Popular Song. Held at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, DC. that tribute performance saw the likes of Garth Brooks, Brandi Carlile, Annie Lennox, Maren Morris, Billy Porter, Charlie Puth and more pay tribute to John and his longtime songwriter.
The performers were personally invited to take part in the tribute. While the full concert is scheduled to be broadcast on April 08th PBS, fan-filmed footage of Metallica covering Elton John‘s “Funeral For A Friend“/”Love Lies Bleeding” has made its way online
One of those things you thought you’d never see in Washington — Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson head-bopping along to @Metallica at the @librarycongress #GershwinPrize for Elton John and Bernie Taupin.
See it April 8 on @PBS. pic.twitter.com/lCJB27SjFx
