The Dillinger Escape Plan‘s early era reunion will be hitting The Salt Shed Outdoors in Chicago, IL on August 24th. Pre-sales for this newly added event from the returning mathcore outfit will launch this Wednesday, March 13th at 10:00am CDT through Ticketmaster.
The band’s guitarist Ben Weinman commented on social media today, March 11th:
“When first announcing the Calculating 25 anniversary SHOW in Brooklyn, we could have never imagined the response. It just goes to show you that the Dillinger Escape Plan is not just a band of 5 dudes, but a force that embodies so many different elements, including the passion of all of our followers. That said, the announcement of our warm-up set at No Values Fest in Pamonia has brought a lot of requests, particularly in reference to us not forgetting about the Midwest. So here you go, folks. Our biggest headline show in history, at one of the coolest new venues in the world!
The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die and No Men are expected to open the show, which according to the below admat, will serve as a 25th anniversary show for the band’s 1999 debut album “Calculating Infinity“.
Amid documented tensions with their longest tenured vocalist Greg Puiciato, this reunion run from Dillinger will find the group reuniting with early vocalist Dimitri Minakakis, who exited the band back in 2001.
