Slayer Announce Their Reunion, Confirm Two Shows

In a surprising twist, thrash metal legends Slayer have come out of retirement. The band had previously capped off their career with a farewell tour that concluded back in 2019. The news arrives as guitarist Kerry King has begun launching his new eponymous solo band.

Vocalist/bassist Tom Araya commented on this return:

“Nothing compares to the 90 minutes when we’re on stage playing live, sharing that intense energy with our fans, and to be honest, we have missed that.”

Guitarist Kerry King, who recently spoke of his own strained relations with his bandmates in the group, added:

“Have I missed playing live? Absolutely. Slayer means a lot to our fans; they mean a lot to us. It will be five years since we have seen them.”

Thus far the outfit have been confirmed for this year’s ‘Riot Fest‘ (September 22nd) and ‘Louder Than Life‘ (September 27th) festivals.
