Vocalist Joel Quartuccio To Sit Out Being As An Ocean’s European/UK Tour, Ithaca’s Djamila Boden Azzouz To Fill-In

Being As An Ocean‘s impending European/UK tour will take place without their vocalist Joel Quartuccio. A video statement issued by Quartuccio on the matter can be found below. He stated in it:

“Hi guys it’s Joel I just wanted to come on here and share a few things with you. Unfortunately this time around in Europe I will not be joining Being As An Ocean. I have pressing matters here at home regarding family, and family first. I need to make sure that I’m here to support my loved ones, no matter what’s happening.

I know all of our fans that love us will appreciate and understand my situation. I’d love nothing more than to be out there in the crowd with you guys, putting on these shows, but again, family comes first. And I have to stand by that and my family. Please don’t let this affect your decision to go to the show. Please go out to these shows. Have so much fun. The band will still be playing and it’s an awesome lineup.

On a positive note, we are so, so very excited to be sharing all of ‘Death Can Wait‘—our brand new album—this Friday, February. Thank you for all the love, can’t wait to see you in the future.”

In light of his absence, the band have recruited Ithaca‘s Djamila Boden Azzouz to fill-in on the trek. Azzouz commented via social media today, January 30th:

“Incredibly honoured to be playing with @beingasanocean as their vocalist du jour on this mammoth tour with @currents @oceansatealaska @sentinelsnj starting this week! I’m no @joelquartuccio but i hope i can do it justice and i know this is gonna be tour to remember🧡

If you’re coming down to a show come and say hi!”
