Former Cryptopsy vocalist Martin Lacroix has passed away. His ex-bandmates in the aforementioned Canadian technical death metal outfit paid tribute to him this morning, sharing the below post on social media:
“Farewell to Martin Lacroix, a formidable presence in Cryptopsy. His brutal vocals, artistic prowess, and his warmth as a human will be dearly missed. Our thoughts are with his loved ones during this difficult time.”
Lacroix held a relatively brief tenure in the band, performing as their vocalist from 2001-2003. He appeared on their 2003 live album “None So Live“. Outside of that group, he was also a member of Spasme, Serocs and Enmity. He was also a noted artist contributing designs for the likes of Gorguts and more.
