Hear Rage Against The Machine Guitarist Tom Morello Guest On New Sheryl Crow Single “Evolution”

Tom Morello, known for his innovative guitar work with recent Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame inductees Rage Against The Machine, contributed a guest guitar solo to the latest single from multi-platinum country rocker Sheryl Crow. In a seemingly unique twist, Crow was also among this year’s inductees into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame.

That new collaborative song is titled “Evolution” and Crow had the following to say of it and how it came together.

“NEW SONG! Evolution conveys my uneasiness about artificial intelligence, its impact on the planet and the human race. Stephen Hawking worried that A.I. would replace humans. As a mom, I want to leave a better world for my children, a healthier planet – is A.I. going to be a benevolent partner in these goals or not? It’s unsettling, and this song deals with those anxieties.

I wrote the song with just me on guitar and vocals, sent it to Mike Elizondo (who produced it) and said, this is bigger than me, can you take a crack at it? He brought it into new sonic territory, it sounds cinematic. Rage Against The Machine guitarist Tom Morello guests on this song – to me, his playing comes from some other planet. It’s a cool bit of kismet that we were both inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this year. His solo on ‘Evolution‘ just ejects you into space.

Hope you like it! Click below to listen and remember the whole album comes out on March 29th!”

The song is the title track to Crow‘s twelfth studio album, which will be out March 29th.
