Ex-Slipknot Drummer Jay Weinberg Has Entered The “Second Phase” Of His Recovery Following Hip & Leg Surgery

Ex-Slipknot drummer Jay Weinberg continues to show off the results of his physical therapy and recovery process. Shortly after after being fired from Slipknot this past November, the acclaimed percussionist underwent surgery on both his hip and femur.

To be more specific, he underwent a surgical procedure to reattached his torn labrum from his left hip and also had one of his femur bones shaved down. As revealed earlier this month he was back to walking on his own power without the aid of crutches.

In his latest update, he has shared a video montage of himself back behind the kit practicing, while also showing off the array of physical therapy exercises he has been undertaking. He commented:

“Two months! 👊🏻🔥

Now we’re talking. It’s been two months since I underwent surgery to repair & reattach my left hip labrum and shave down part of excess femur bone. I’m so excited to move into the second phase of my recovery — no longer just stabilizing and protecting the joint, but building back strength and getting back to my favorite activities.

It’s still a slow and steady physical therapy process, but it’s incredibly encouraging that my team has cleared me to start playing drums again — much earlier than I had originally expected.

Feeling awesome. Thank you all for your continued good vibes and messages of support, it’s sincerely appreciated. 🖤”
