Ozzy Osbourne Proclaims T-Pain’s Cover Of Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” As “The Best Ever”

The Prince Of Darkness himself Ozzy Osbourne has heaped praise on T-Pain‘s cover of the Black Sabbath staple, “War Pigs“. The latter Auto-Tune pioneering, diamond-certified, rap/R&B artist released that cover of the 1970 heavy metal classic back in March of last year as part of his covers album, “On Top Of The Covers“.

Osbourne, who of course fronted Black Sabbath for many of their biggest hits, including “War Pigs“, appears to have newly been made aware of that cover. He heaped praise on it via social media tonight, January 10th.

The 75-year-old musician proclaimed on X (formerly Twitter), “This is the best cover of “War Pigs” ever. Why didn’t you guys call me?” T-Pain responded back directly, “You’re always invited. Top of the list, every time!! Thank you so much. Means a lot coming from the greatness himself 🙇🏿‍♂️”

The footage Ozzy references comes from a trio of shows T-Pain played last March in support of that covers record. That footage was shared online by T-Pain officially three weeks ago and can be seen below.

Considering the breadth of artists to cover “War Pigs” over the decades, and the strength of Faith No More‘s past take on the track, one could consider Ozzy‘s glowing approval to be high praise indeed. Other artists to previously tackle that song include Gov’t Mule, Cake, Tesla, Cancer Bats, Sacred Reich, The Dresden Dolls and more.
