Official Video Of Dave Grohl’s Sole Live Performance Of “Play” Released

Foo Fighters vocalist/guitarist Dave Grohl‘s sole live performance of his 23-minute solo track “Play” has newly been made available online. That ambitious venture was originally released back in 2018, and saw Grohl perform full takes of all the featured instruments.

As part of Warren Haynes‘ 30th annual ‘Christmas Jam‘ benefit event back in 2018, Grohl performed the track live, with guest spots from the likes of his frequent collaborator Greg Kurstin (keyboards), Chris Chaney (bass), Drew Hester (percussion), along with guitarists Alain Johannes, Barrett Jones and Jason Falkner. Abby The Spoon Lady also took part.

That performance is now available to officially view digitally below and will appear on a forthcoming “The Benefit Concert Volume 20” release that is due out this coming Friday, December 08th. It compiles the various sets from the 2018 edition of the ‘Christmas Jam‘ event, which also included sets from Eric Church, Joe Bonamassa and more.
