Andorran progressive death metal band Persefone will be dropping a new EP by the name of “Lingua Ignota: Part I” on February 02nd through Napalm Records. That effort will showcase the band’s new vocalist, Daniel Rodríguez Flys (also of Eternal Storm.) His predecessor, Marc Martins Pia, exited the band this past September.
A music video for a new single titled “One Word” has arrived online today (November 28th) in advance of that effort, with the band’s guitarist Carlos Lozano commenting:
“‘One Word embodies all that ‘Lingua Ignota‘ is meant to be, both musically and lyrically. With a much more organic and band oriented approach on the writing for this new release, ’One Word’ was the first step towards the sound we were trying to define with the new music. A sound where every instrument, word, note and hit, had its place – avoiding meaningless passages or transitions. Every sound working to help the next one, and all of them being held together by something bigger.”
Recording sessions for the effort took place at Studio Gröndahl in Stockholm, Sweden under producer David Castillo (Katatonia, Opeth), who also handled the mixing duties.
