While his ongoing health issues have kept him from realizing his dream of heading back out on tour, heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne has remained creatively prolific in recent years. It would appear that 2024 will see him maintaining that streak, with plans set to focus on his fourteenth full-length album.
Speaking recently with Metal Hammer, the 74-year-old Prince Of Darkness also issued a brief update on his recent neck surgery, which took place earlier this month. Regarding the latter, he offered:
“I’ve had all the surgery now, thank god. ’m feeling okay – it was just dragging on. I thought I’d be back on my feet months ago, I just couldn’t get used to this mode of living, constantly having something wrong. I can’t walk properly yet, but I’m not in any pain any more and the surgery on my spine went great.”
As for the new album, Osbourne once again hopes to work with producer Andrew Watt on the effort, having previously used his services on “Ordinary Man” and Osbourne‘s current album, “Patient Number 9“. Osbourne hopes for recording sessions to commence in early 2024 at a studio constructed at his UK home.
He commented of it, “I’m just starting to work on it now, and we’ll be recording in the early part of next year. I want to take my time with this one!” Osbourne also communicated that he hopes to return to the road in support of this new album.
