Ibaraki, the Japanese-themed metal project spearheaded by Trivium vocalist/guitarist Matthew Kiichi Heafy, has newly launched an official music video for “Jigoku Dayu“. Black Card Films helmed the video for that track, which can be found on Ibaraki‘s debut album “Rashomon“.
Heafy shared some insight into the inspiration for the song itself, offering:
“When I first witnessed the original classic Japanese painting of Jigoku Dayu, I was mesmerized; then I read the story. The story is one that still haunts me to this day: a woman captured, enslaved, and forced into a world of servitude. The kimono she forged for herself depicted all the scenes of hell — a metaphor of the prison she now lived in.”
