Documentary On The Mars Volta/At The Drive In Duo Of Omar Rodríguez-López & Cedric Bixler-Zavala To Screen This Fall


A documentary film titled ‘Omar & Cedric: If This Ever Gets Weird‘ is scheduled to have its world premiere at this year’s ‘Raindance‘ film festival in the UK. That doc is slated to screen on October 28th and documents the lengthy relationship between musicians Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Omar Rodríguez-López.

The pair’s decades long career, which includes At The Drive In and The Mars Volta, will be explored in the film. Footage for it was culled from over 20 years of video filmed by Omar. Nicolas Jack Davies directed. An official description of the documentary reads as follows:

‘Filmed over a period of 20+ years by founding member of At The Drive In and The Mars Volta, Omar Rodríguez-López, and containing remarkable footage from 100s of hours of Omar’s self-shot material – this is a totally unique window into the incredible journey of one of this generations most progressive and prolific musical partnerships – Omar Rodríguez-López and Cedric Bixler Zavala.
