Maynard James Keenan, the enigmatic vocalist who fronts the likes of Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, will be ringing in his 60th birthday next year with a run of special collaborative shows. The revered musician and winemaker will hit that milestone on April 17th and will also be onstage that very night.
Billed as his ‘Sessanta’ (60 in Italian), the touring event will feature members of A Perfect Circle, Primus and Puscifer sharing the stage at the same time for special live sets. You may recall that Keenan previously celebrated his 50th birthday onstage in a similar fashion.
Dates for this special run of shows include:
04/17 Phoenix, AZ – Talking Stick Resort
04/18 San Diego, CA – The Rady Shell
04/20 Los Angeles, CA – Hollywood Bowl
04/21 Berkeley, CA – The Greek Theatre
04/23 West Valley City, UT – Maverik Center
04/25-26 Morrison, CO – Red Rocks Amphitheater
Special guests are also planned for the shows, tickets for which will be up this Friday, September 15th, at 10:00am local. Keenan commented:
“It took some massaging, and some long days in rehearsal, but we managed to seamlessly pull off this three-song rotation at ‘Cinquanta‘, my 50th-birthday shows, at the Greek Theatre in 2014. Bands aren’t used to simultaneously sharing the stage with other bands, but if anyone can do it, it’s Primus, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer.”
