The Massachusetts edition of the ‘Is For Lovers‘ festival overseen by Hawthorne Heights has been moved to a smaller venue with an abridged lineup. Originally booked for September 17th at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA, the festival was initially canceled amid low ticket sales.

A statement issued by the festival’s social media has revealed that several of the artists scheduled to perform will now be playing a new version of the fest at The Palladium in Worcester, MA on the same day instead. Rise Against, Alkaline Trio, Bayside and more will no longer be taking part in that event.

A statement issued by the ‘Is For Lovers‘ camp reads as follows:

“Sometimes things don’t go as planned and you must make difficult decisions based on circumstances outside your control.

Cancelling was never an option to us. We know that thousands of you have airplane tickets, hotels, and plans you’ve made for the festival.

We’ve been working around the clock and have found a new promoter and a new home for an abridged version of this years MA Is For Lovers
Festival at Palladium in Worcester. Some of the best shows of all of our careers have taken place at the Palladium, so taking the festival there just felt right.

Due to these changes, all previously purchased tickets will be refunded by Ticketmaster – new tickets for the fest will be available through See Tickets.”

A separate statement issued by Rise Against reads as follows:

“The promoters of MA ‘Is For Lovers have cancelled their fest at its original venue due to insufficient ticket sales.

Ticket-holders will be refunded. some of the other bands will play an abridged version of the fest at an alternate venue nearby. We encourage you to support these great bands.

We were looking forward to playing and disappointed not to. In the meantime, we will keep plotting a proper
return to our incredible fans in the greater Boston area sometime in the future.”
