A Second Metallica Song Has Crossed 1 Billion Plays On Spotify

Thrash metal titans Metallica have notched up another milestone via the enduring success of their 1992 single “Nothing Else Matters“. That track was the third single to be released from the band’s 16x multi-platinum 1991 self-titled album.

Having already been certified gold in the United States back in 2012, that song has newly crossed 1 billion streams on Spotify, marking the group’s second track to do so on that streaming platform behind “Enter Sandman“. “Enter Sandman” was of course the lead single from the band’s aforementioned self-titled album.

Buoyed in recent years by the success of its much-storied feature in season 4 of ‘Stranger Things‘, the gold-certified title track to the band’s 6x multi-platinum 1986 album “Master Of Puppets” is their third most streamed track on Spotify, closing in on over 722,500,000 streams.

The band’s official upload of the music video for “Nothing Else Matters” achieved over 1 billion views back in the summer of 2021.
